Vidyasagar Setu

It was built recently to connect Kolkata with Howrah, I mean decades
after Howrah Bridge. Both the bridges are on the Hooghly river, so, it
is also called 2nd Hooghly Bridge.

Vidyasagar Setu - its formal name, to remember the remarkable
personality of earlier Calcutta - Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar - the
great man who was a reformer. He succeeded to discourage child marriage and encourage marriages of young widows of Bengal.
